The Swiss public transit system is like a giant Rolex. From Zurich through rolling farm land, quick tour of Bern (national capital), boat across an alpine lake, into the Alps. 1st hiking today with views on the Matterhorn, if it,s out.

John, hope you have some clear weather for the incredible views, especially around the Matterhorn. Make sure when you are in Zermatt you try the bratwurst and something called rosti, which are potatos. You will love them. Sometimes you can get these in the mountainside restaurants, which look like sheepherders huts. If you get to Smutt, there is such a place there, but there are others.
ReplyDeleteThere is a wonderful crepe place on the main drag in Zermatt which is worth trying. A wonderful snack at the end of a long day of hiking. Then there is the beer, but I don't have to instruct you on that. Thinking of you on those hikes with beautiful views.
